Have the cold winter days of the season put a beating on your luscious lips? I know at times the weather can be brutal on our lips and can make wearing lipstick and lipgloss on dry cracked lips look horrible! Well… today let’s raise our beauty wands and sly the cold brutal days of winter with some quick beauty remedies that will instantly cure those dry and chapped lips for good!!
That’s right drinking at least 64oz of water a day can increase hydration to our bodies inside and out. Research has shown that over consumption of sodas, alcohol, and caffeinated drinks can cause dehydration. As a result the skin and other parts of the body can look dry and dull. So think about those kissers! Now… if you are one that have a hard time drinking water try adding your favorite fruits to you h2o! I am so loving the water bottles with the filters for chopped fruit!! My favorite fruits to add to my water bottle are: strawberry & lemon and Kiwi & Strawberry! It’s yummy and makes me want to drink more of it! Plus it is better than using the flavored powder flavorings that contain the aspartame.
If you are like, yay..my lips are already flaky, so what’s next? Try seeking out a great lip scrub! My personal favorite like scrub is Fresh Sugar Lip Polish $22.50! The amazing lip polish if formulated with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes. It also nourishes the lips with the oils of meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture. After using this treatment my lips are so soft and ready for sealing with my favorite lip balm.
Once you have scrubbed away the dry flaky skin is time to moisturize and seal your lets! Now, you may ask me what is your favorite lip balm I have too many for different reason. So… Below you will see my favorites and I will give you a list of great drugstore options and high end options too! For drugstore favorites I love Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm SPF 20 Sunscreen, Peppermint, $3.99. This one glides on smooth without the sticky texture and the price point is awesome!! My other favorite drugstore product are the eos Smooth Lip Balm Sphere, Strawberry Sorbet, $3.29 and Melon. The packing is soooo cute!! Did I buy it for the packaging? Hummmm… Who cares! They feel great and they are affordable, lol.
My high end selection is the Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment Translucent $25! It feels like water to my lips leaving them silky smooth. According to Sephora this treatment is is fortified with a high concentration of ultra-nourishing, age-delaying ingredients, including Hyaluronic Spheres, that penetrate the skin to fill in wrinkles and plump the lips, and sea fennel..Will I spend that amount again.. I will have to think about that unless I am just feeling too fabulous during repurchase, lol. All in all the key is to ensure use the balms in the morning and at night to ensure you lips will stay nourished!!
