New Sensa Journey Take 2: Month 1 Results

Happy New Year!! I hope that you all had a great holiday season and are ready to take on the year of 2012 with a bang! As many of you know I decided to get back on Sensa Weight Loss System after thanksgiving with a start weight of 190lbs (I am 5’8″ tall). It was fun getting started with the sensa and also trying the vitamins, quenches and the chews. With working retail management sometimes my meals we stretched out a lot, so the Sensa chews and the quenches were a God send. They helped curb my appetite so I wouldn’t over eat when it was time time. My only challenge for me in getting enough water in for the day which is something that I will continue to work on in the New Year of 2012. I need to keep the work permanently attached to my hip, lol.

Many of you may ask did I exercise and my answer will be minimally. I take martial arts 2-3 times a week which helped me maintain my weight and lose a little while using the sensa. However, I do feel that if I worked out more like I used to I would have lost more weight. You may wonder, what type of exercise do I do? While, I really enjoy cardio workouts like step aerobics, kick boxing, and jogging therefore I need to get my mind ready to do that along with weight lifting too. By doing  all of that it will help me build lean muscle which in the long run helps the body burn more fat which equal loss of inches and loss of weight. So all in all that will be a goal for me in this new year. My struggle is running to the coach when I get home from work, or to the computer to Facebook or YouTube, so I will have to minimize that in the new year or plan out my day where my exercise is complete in the morning and maintain control over eating at night time when I am not hungry. Do any of you struggle with that? I work retail management and my hours are so irregular that it is a challenge

I have to say the first 3 weeks were easy for me until Christmas came along. With all of the holiday eating came a stop in my weight loss too! I did not keep my control with the portions or kept hydrated with water so my weight loss stopped during week 4. (0lbs lost) I am retaining like crazy!! Did any of you experience that during the holidays? Sometimes the holidays are tough, but I will not beat myself up. I know what I need to do in order to gain control which means back to the healthy eating, exercising and drinking mega amounts of water.

You all may be wondering what type of foods did I eat? Did I prepare all of my meals from scratch? No way! I am too busy for that. With working full-time, busy mom, wife and taekwondo student and mom some day it is impossible to prepare everything. So some days I will prepare foods for my family and take left overs to work and on other days I will make fast easy meals or lean cuisine it too! It just works for me and avoids less stress too. So, I guess if you are in the same boat as I am you will have to experiment on what foods you like and make that a staple item in order for you to have success. I also came across some great healthy recipes from some cookbooks I picked up too! My meal sample meal:

Breakfast ideas:

  • Vanilla Yogurt parfait (my fav)
  • Instant  oatmeal with bananas with orange juice
  • Breakfast Tacos with egg whites with fruit
Lunches:
  • Lean Cuisines (fast for convenience)
  • Salad
  • Tuna Salad with veggies
  • Turkey Sandwich with Veggies
Dinner:
  • Catfish with veggies
  • Orange chicken with rice
  • Lean Cuisines (when working)

My results for month 1 are a total of 5lbs losts which brings me to a weight of 185. My measurements are as follows:

Bust: 38″ (same, no change)

Waist: 34.25″ (lost -.75″)

Hips: 44″

I am excited about the weight loss and I can not weight to see what month 2 brings me too! My goal is to lose 10 pounds this 2 month with the new goals I have into place. Also at the end of month 2 my goal is to have progress pictures ready to share with you all too. Until post you all be well and healthy and again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hugs,

Tasha :)

The Original Indian Hair Company: Wavy Indian Hair After 6-8 Weeks

Hello my beauties, this post is for my divas that love to rock hair extensions like me, and you have been dying to know what my thoughts are on the buzz worthy hair extension from The Original Indian Hair Company. Back in September, I installed 2 bundles of the 18"-20" Indian Wavy hair in Natural Dark brown. ($199 per bundle! Yes, this hair is expensive, but you will find out why it is worth the price later on.) I installed every single weft used since the hair texture is fine to medium. Now if you like to have a fuller/ thicker installation than what I have then I highly recommend purchasing 3 bundles of hair in order to achieve that. However, I was happy with 2 bundles. Initially, when I received the hair it had a curly appearance and smelled to fresh and clean without that chemical processed smell. I contacted the company to see if they recommend to wash it again prior to install and they said it was not needed since they was it 2 twice before it is finally shipped to the consumer. I thought that was great, but you all know me, I washed it anyway with my Oscar Blandi jasmine collection line of hair care products I purchased from Sephora. Now, if you have not have my initial review video of the hair click "here" to watch it on YouTube.

Ok. .  The review after wearing the hair for 8 weeks now I can finally share with you my thoughts. First this first, this hair was very easy to style 3 different ways while wearing it for the entire time span. I was able to wash and let it air dry into messy soft beach waves with little to no product at all. (I wished I took some photos of it) Secondly, this hair was very easy to curl and hold curls too, however I caution you. If you live in a hot, dry or humid climate like I do you will definitely have to use some type of holding spray to elongate the wear of the curls throughout your work day. Without the styling aid your curls will loosen up a bit and will not last all day long. Finally, as for straight styles, this hair flat ironed beautifully as you will see in the video below.

Now, on to hair maintenance. You may be wondering what did I use on my hair and the Indian hair during the 8 weeks, and how often did I wash this hair, right? Well, washing my hair I wash it one to two times a week depending on how active my workouts were or how much styling product I used on the hair on any particular day. Here are some things to consider when it comes to how often you should was your hair and the installed hair.

  • If you are exercising 3 times a week I would wash your hair twice a week due to the fact that natural oils and sweat can weight down your hair and cause it to tangle.
  • If you heat style your hair daily and use lots of hair sprays and gels to hold your style on any given day I would wash it that night. You don't wait to restyle your hair with all of the product left on it the day before. I feel you are asking for trouble like weighed down styles, tangling and breakage (shedding) due to excessive heat style and old product on it.
  • If you are very kind to your hair and don use excessive amount of product on it or a lot of heat and you down exercise often then once a week is fine.

The products I decided to use on my hair due to the climate and the frizzing I experienced are the Ojon damage reverse line of products you can find at Sephora and Ulta. Now don't get me wrong the hair was not extremely frizzing, but the climate can increase the frizziness with any hair texture.

I feel these product worked wonderfully with the indian hair and kept it under control. Everytime I washed it with the Ojon it felt wonderful, less frizzy and luster was beautiful. Now you don't have to use the same things I used on it, but any hair care line that works against frizzing and dryness is a perfect match for this hair. Since this hair is expensive I wanted to use quality products on it.

On to tangling, shedding or matting. If you take care of this hair like I mentioned above you will experience little to no tangling or shedding. While wearing this hair I did experience some shedding and I believe that had to do with me cutting the wefts for this install. However, the shedding was minimal. Tangling, there was very little tangling. The tangling I experience was just like any other hair extension I have worn in the past. When you are moving throughout the day the hair get little tangles, but nothing that my fingers could comb out gently. Matting, none!

Now, would I purchase this hair in the future? Of course I would! I would have to save some $$$, but if I am getting ready for an extra fabulous event and I want nice quality hair I would. Also the hair is worth the price because you can definitely get your wearing's worth out of this hair. I truly feel that this is one texture you can wearing over and over again. This hair is lightweight, luxurious and fun to wear in many different styles.

Urban Decay The Revolution High-Performance Lash Curler Review

Today I am finally sharing with you my thoughts on the Urban Decay The Revolution High-Performance Lash Curler, retailing for $20 at Sephora. If you follow me on facebook I had posted a picture of this lovely when I first purchased it and I also included it in my September Sephora haul video on youtube. What intrigued me about this particular lash curler is that it make curling your lashes effortless! I am not kidding! Take a look at the pictures below:

This lash curler lets you curl your lashes all at once or in sections and won't pinch your skin. I love that and what you will find in my review video is this was a struggle for me as it may have been for many of you to curl your lashes without getting then caught between the bars of a traditional lash curler. Urban decay's innovative design has eliminated the maddening bars on either side of your old eyelash curler so that it handles deftly with an open cage.  The other thing I love about this curler is that It includes five replacement pads that can be swapped in and out to keep your curler clean and springy. The curler itself is nice and springy in order to achieve that perfect curl with your real lashes or falsies too!

Overall, I am glad that I decided to splurge on this awesome curler and definitely recommend this one to add to your makeup collection. Do you already own this curler? What are your thoughts? Leave a comment below and share :)

The Original Indian Hair Company: Initial Wavy Indian Hair Review

Hey beauties! I know you all have been wondering in my most recent videos what hair I was rocking, right? Well, today I will answer you questions, yayyyy!! Many of you have been messaging me on Youtube or here at beauty chameleon asking me if I have every tried Indian hair and I felt so bad that I could not answer you questions regarding Indian hair. The main reason why is because I have never worn Indian hair before. In the past I have worn Malaysian hair or yaky remi hair extensions. Most of the brands that I have used I have been happy with, but I have always been curious to know how the Indian hair feels and how it maintains over an 8 week period.

So… I have been researching the internet and youtube on Indian hair and have become very impressed with the reviews of The Original Indian Hair Company's Indian hair. Many people were impressed with the texture, the longevity of the hair and the appearance of the hair, so you know after hearing that from many resources I was totally in for experimenting with Indian hear. Shortly after the excitement of wanting to try Indian hair extensions The Original Indian hair company sent me 2 bundles of their beautiful Wavy Indian hair for review consideration which means I can finally let you all know my thoughts on the Indian hair.

Before I talk about any of the hair and my pros & cons let me show what the hair looks like prior to installing:

The hair was shipped beautifully in a box which I was very impressed with. All of the wefts appeard to be sewn in place with impeccable quality and tied down to the box with a hair net protecting the beautiful locks of hair. The hair itself had a low luster to it which is great because my natural hair texture has a low luster without product on it.

The hair I received was the 18-20 inch wavy Indian hair which retails for $199 per bundle and I have two 4oz bundles in order to install a full application of hair. The hair is pretty long and it measured out to be about 22 inches long. So you get a lot of hair ladies! According to the indian hair company their hair is 100% unprocessed virgin remy Indian Hair. They never process or color our hair and They guarantee our hair to be 100% virgin. This makes their hair unmatched in quality. If you are unsure of ordering due to price and what to see what you are in for you can order samples of three textures for only $8.00. I think that is great thing to offer.

In addition to that their  products are not processed or colored, our virgin hair comes only in the natural shades of 1B (Off Black), 2 (Darkest Brown), 3 (Dark Brown) and every color in between. They recommend consulting with a professional stylist when considering coloring the hair. Of course our virgin hair will take and hold permanent, semi-permanent, cellophane, and lift beautifully, just like your own natural hair. I decided that I did not need to color the hair since I do not want to add color to my own natural hair.

As you can see by the picture the hair comes in a wavy pattern already! From what I learned the hair is washed twice and air dried before it is shipped to the consumer which is awesome. I have to say the hair smelled so good when I opened the package. It did not have a chemical processed smell to it at all. And, you know I had to do my own wash to it before I installed it and the great thing I notice is that the hair did not bleed any color out at all.  I washed my hair and the hair extension with Oscar Blandi's Jasmine shampoo and conditioner. These products mentioned are my favorites because they work for me, so please feel free to use what works best for you.

After successfully washing and blow drying my hair and they extensions I was ready to install the hair. I decided to braid all of my hair except for the area where there is a part and the areas area my hairline just so I can have a natural appearance without any tracks being exposed.

As you can see the hair take beautiful curls, the luster is low and the texture of the hair is soft to the touch! I like the fact that I can also wear this hair curly or straight. So for you ladies that love to rock the straight styles you will love this texture too. I can't wait to test letting the hair air dry and see what natural waves I get with this hair and that I will follow up with you in my 4 week video and how that turns out and much more.

Since this is my initial review I will have to follow up with you all and let you now how the hair maintains in the next four weeks. Until then leave your comments below as far as any questions you would like for me to answer in the 4 week review update concerning this hair. Once I get all of you questions I will address them in that video. Until then enjoy my initial review video below and visit The Original Indian Hair Company for more information about this hair and much more!
