Make-Up Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation Review

I know how important it is for many women to find the right foundation for their skin. Wearing foundation is a big part of many women lives. We wear makeup when we go to work, go out at night, take our kids to the park, and even when we go grocery shopping! For these reasons, it is vital that our Foundation keeps us looking young, fresh and flawless all day long without breaking our skin out. The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Invisible Cover Foundation 170 Caramel is undeniably a very popular foundation found only at Sephora Stores.

Make Up For Ever’s HD Invisible Cover Foundation $40, is an oil-free medium to full coverage foundation that covers the skin’s imperfections perfectly while remaining inconspicuious on screen and in real life setting too. What caught my eye about this foundation is that it claims to create a soft-focus effect to the skin, which is designed to meet the coverage concerns of people that are in the spotlight light for example, celebrities and other television personalities. As a result, leaving the skin with a flawless finish verses a cakey finish. This foundation can also withstand bright or sharp lighting too.So, after reading about this foundation and the amazing reviews I decided to purchase this myself.

One thing that surprised me is that this foundation comes in 25 shades making this foundation wearable for medium to dark skin tones too which was a plus to me. Secondly, this foundation contains: Relipiduim that moisturizes the skin (+46% after 4hrs), Fucogel which forms a microfilm that prevents dehydration and protects against external aggression and Sericite that enables rays of light to spread more widely, intensifying the radiance of the complexion. Lastly, this foundation does not contain any SPF which can have it pros and cons. The Con, there is no sun protection offer in the MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation, so you will need a SPF either in your moisturizer or primer if you will be wearing this outdoors for any extended amount of time. The Pro is that if you are going to be taking photos for example weddings, you will not have to worry about the milky sheen sunscreens leave on the skin that my come through the flash of the photo. Foundations with SPF can make your foundation appear a shade lighter or look like you have the wrong shade on in photos.

The foundation is packaged in a 1.01oz pump bottle making it easy to use and keeps bacteria out of your foundation. The texture is very light and smooth feeling on the skin. You can apply this foundation with a foundation brush of any kind for a smooth application and it has a buildable coverage. I love the weight and texture of this foundation on my skin because it feels weightless and yet it gives wonderful coverage. However, if you are used to the coverage of MAC’s Studio Sculpt or Studio Fix, you may not like the coverage of MUFE’s foundation. Anyway, In addition to the weight, I love the shade for my complexion. I tend to have a yellow undertone to my skin and finding a foundation that does not make me look orange or red is a challenge, however, the MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation matches perfectly! To set this foundation you can used MUFE HD Microfinish Powder, $30. This will leave your skin with a slight matte finish without changing the natural color of the foundation and yet it still leaves your skin with a glowing and radiant finish.

Overall, this foundation is a bit on the pricey side, however it is worth every penny for the way it will make your skin look and feel. I truly enjoy using HD Invisible Cover Foundation by Make Up Forever. I have now worn this foundation over that past few months and I love how it wears throughout the day. At the end of the day my makeup still looks fresh and natural vs being caked up. I would recommend this product to everyone that desires flawless looking skin. This foundation is also a plus for those that are getting married and want a flawless soft focused look on their wedding day.

Fantastic results!  Your skin looks really pretty without makeup, too.

I'm going to try this out during my next trip to Sephora.

Aww. . . Thanks! Somedays my skincare is okay with out makeup and then others no so much, lol. I guess we all have our days :)

I'm still a little confused. Are the pictures here (color swatch and face) of 170 or 173? I have no sound on my computer so I can't hear what you're saying on the video. Thanks.

I wish I could help. I don’t know all of makeup forever’s colors or the color conversion. I would recommend checking out makeup forever’s website to see if they have a conversion chart. Sorry :(

Hi I wear 173 HD Foundation Makeup as well, Can you recommend any powder or mineral foundation similiar to that complexion or color or what type do you wear?

    • Natasha says:

I use the Makeup forever HD setting powder for this foundation. I use this setting powder for many foundations :)

      • Asia says:

Hi Natasha thanks for your reply I'm sorry I actually meant to say what other type of mineral powder-like foundation (like bareminerals or sheer cover and.etc.) If you could recommend any  that was similiar to the 173 HD Foundation color/tone -complexion. thx

        • Natasha says:

No worries! I have used the mineral veil with it too and it works just fine :)

          • Devi says:

            Hi Natasha,
I don't think she's asking about setting powders that work with the HD foundation, but about powder foundations and mineral foundations that are the same color as MUFE HD 173. Something to use instead of the HD foundation but in a powder form.

          • Natasha says:

Ahhh. . . That’s a hard one. I am thinking of one, but the shade range is horrible for deeper skin tones. The brand that comes to mind is Cargo’s Blu-ray (high definition) pressed powder. This you can only find at Ulta stores or Sephora’s inside JCPenney. As far as that, that is all I know that is out on the market that is HD is powder from.

    • Devi says:

Asia, you can try MUFE Duo Mat in 209 or 214, or Cover Fx's Powder FX in B0 or B15.

      • Asia says:

Thanks Devi,so far I've read great reviews on both cosmetics now I wanna get both, lol.  I usually wear Pur Minerals which I do love but I want to try something different or better.

i wanted to ask im a nc30 on mac what color can i use

    • Natasha says:

I am not completely sure exactly what color you would be, however if you live close to any sephora store you can go inside and get color matched and get a sample to try the foundation before you buy.

  8. Vanessa says:

Awesome Review!! Thank you so much! Just a little question…what color do you use for your eyebrows – you pics of before and after are amazing and your eyebrows look amazing? what do you to them? pencil? color?
    THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)

    • Natasha says:

      Hi Vanessa!

For my eyebrows I use Lorac Take a Brow eyebrow powder in dark brown. You can find this brand from Sephora & Ulta stores. I have a tutorial on my youtube channel: http://youtube.com/nhop76 the tutorial is located in my makeup basics playlist called How to create eyebrows. I hope that you get a chance to watch it and that it helps you create a perfect brow.
      Happy Holiday,
      Natasha :)
P.S. I tweeze my own brows

HI! i love this foundation! When i was at the store i tried on the 140 on the back of my hand ( im really light..) and it blended well and it looked great i even asked the one of the girls that were helping me she said it was good too! but when i tried in on my face (after i had gotten home) it didnt look well! it didnt blend with my neck and when i blended on my neck it just looked too dark and orangy! the worst part is, is that its soo expensive!
do you have any tips to help me make it blend more or make it look lighter?(:

    • Natasha says:

      Hi there!

I would one take it back to the store and exchange it for a better shade. Never match foundation on your hand if you can help it. Always get it matched on your face because our hands can be slightly darker than our face. otherwise is you are unable to color match on the face ask for a sample before buying just so you can try it out at home to ensure the foundation is what you expected it to be. I hope this helps, Natasha :)

Natasha, I am from India and I’m told this product is available only in Bombay. In a country which is hot for most part of the year, foundation may not be the ideal thing. My skin color is quite dark and sweaty. Do you think I should attempt to use this make up. I love their eye gel though.

    Jaya

    • Natasha says:

      HI Jaya!

If your skin is oily I would recommend using Makeup forever’s Mat Velvet foundation! That is perfect for you skin concern. I know I will be using that this summer when it heats up here in Texas!

Thanks for your prompt response Natasha. I am based in Delhi and your products are still to make its entrance here. But I did visit Inorbit in Mumbai. By the way the staff there were really helpful. I shall wait for your stuff to arrive here in Delhi.
