T3 Bespoke Medium Duality Flat Iron Review

139730Hey beauties! I have been wanting to do a review on the T3 Bespoke Tourmaline Medium Duality Flat Iron 1-3/8 for a long time. I purchased this flat iron back in June or July of 2009 and I wanted to use it for a long period of time in order to see how long it last and retain its use and quality. So, with that said I am ready to share with you all my thoughts on this wonderful flat iron from T3 Bespoke.

Many of you may say, “why in the world would you spend $160 on a flat iron? or could you just buy a drug store brand or CHI? And the answer to this question is yes and I have! However, In the past I have become frustrated with purchasing a drugstore brand flat iron that may cost between $25-60. The frustrations are: One they don’t heat up fast, do not heat up high enough for course hair, they damage my hair, or they burn out less than a year. Needless to say I have spend over the past few years over $250 and more on styling products like this that fail me. The other frustration is that I also purchased a CHI iron. The CHI and Solica irons are nice, but many of them have only a 1-2 year warranty. And, I will tell I usually I don’t have problems with the iron until after the warranty expires which sucks.

So after many frustrations I decided to purchase the T3 Bespoke Tourmaline Medium Duality Flat Iron 1-3/8. The reasons why I decided to purchase this one is: I needed a flat iron that would not fry out my hair and damage my hair or my extensions that I may wear from time to time, I needed a iron that would heat up fast in the morning (with a child, I need something that would work fast), and I wanted a product that has a longer warranty life just in case I have issues with the iron after a year or two. So, hence. . . I purchased this iron! Yey!

I have been using this iron for the past 6 months now and I am just as impressed with it as much as I was when I first used it. I love the the various heat settings on this iron, it heats up fast, I can get curls or straighten my hair, and my hair has this nice healthy shine after using it vs. a heated dried appearance which is AWESOME!! The only down side is that if you want nice ringlets curls you will need to try another version of this iron because this iron has a flat square shape and the irons with a more rounded shape can give nicer curls for sure! So, all in I rate this iron 4 stars!! Which is great!! All in all if you are looking for a nice quality flat iron that will hold up to word I would definitely recommend this iron. I would not recommend anything to people if I was not happy with it myself.

Belson Ionic Tourmaline Turbo Dryer Review

Hair dryers! Which one to buy? There are the luxury dryers like the FHI’s, CHI’s, T3’s pro and & featherweight dryers which I would love to own. Why? Because of the follow features that of course are so much healthier for our hair like:

(example: T3 PRO. Dryerfor $119)

T3 PRO. Dryer will deliver shiny, smooth, frizz-free locks with a twice as fast drying time. Don’t let the pretty pink package fool you—this dryer is powered by T3’s patented tourmaline technology. Tourmaline is a semi-precious gem that gives off ionic energy—naturally—when heated. No other brand has T3’s pioneering process for incorporating tourmaline into their products. T3 doesn’t just spray or coat the dryer with tourmaline—it is infused so it doesn’t wear off, so you can enjoy its long-lasting, powerful benefits.

What else you need to know:
The tourmaline-infused concentrator and diffuser attachment works dynamically with the dryer for maximum ionic benefits that create soft, tousled waves and gorgeously curly styles, without the frizz! Weight of the dryer is 22 oz. Two year warranty included.
This is great and wonderful, but who has the money to shell out from $119 to $200 & up for a hair dryer in these economic times? If I did I would totally get it! But you all know me I would rather splurge on makeup!! Anyway, I am sure that there are other healthy alternatives for our hair that has the similar technology for less right? That is why I did some research and found a few dryers that has similar technologies, but for a lot less! After my research I ended up at Sally’s. Another great source for styling tools for hair and other great beauty finds. What I found and decided to purchase was the Belson Ionic Tourmaline Turbo Dryer for $34.99. Okay now what intrigued me the most was the similarity in technology.

What they say about this hair dryer:

The Belson Ionic Tourmaline Turbo Hairdyer emits millions of negative ions, allowing the hair to be silky smooth and frizz free while reducing drying time.
* 1875 Watts of power
* Powerful yet lightweight
* Leaves hair soft, shiny and smooth
* Doesn’t damage hair like other hair dryers
* Eliminates the frizzy “blow-dried” look
* Negative ions add moisture and sheen
* Two speed settings
* Six heat settings
* Cool shot button
* Ionized concentrator
* Non-slip rubberized inserts
* Hinged air-intake grille
* Air concentrator
* Styling pik
* 9-ft. cord with hanging ring

Create healthy, shiny, beautiful hair with new advanced technology! An amazing professional Tourmaline + Ionic Ceramic 1875 watt hair dryer that revitalizes your hair’s natural moisture balance. Tourmaline crystals are crushed into the dryer’s components and emit an overload of negative ions and far-infrared heat. While the negative ions close the cuticle layer and seal in moisture, infrared heat penetrates deep into the hair shaft to heat gently and dry your hair from within. Hair is left silky, frizz free, and healthy while drying is reduced.

So after reading that and then seeing the price for this one. I decided to purchase it and I am glad I did. My reasons are:

  1. The hair dryer did cut the drying time down in half.
  2. My hair did not smell like it was burning while drying. Which in the long run will mean less or no breakage on my relaxed hair.
  3. The frizziness was at minimum compared to my Conair Dryer from target.
  4. The dryer itself was very light weight like the expensive t3 pro.

So, overall I am loving my new dryer that I have now had for over a month and would totaly reccommend it if you are on a budget and want a dryer that is healthier for your hair, but not too pricey! The only down side is that it does not hae the warranty like the T3, but for the price? I am okay with that.

Max Factor 2000 calorie Extreme Mascara Review

2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper

2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper
$9.99, was just released by Max Factor a few months back and there has already been a lot of hype on this product on various sites like total beauty and many others. The ratings seem to be very high and I am always one to say if the rating are above average I must give it a try.

If you all don’t know my natural eyelashes are short. My mom did not bless me with medium to long lashes, darn! But anyway I decided to go to my local CVS to purchase it and give it a try.

What they say about this product is: Hello Lash Plumper! New 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper. The difference? A patented fat-inject formula and extreme Double-D brush plump every single lash so perfectly, so voluptuously, they may ask, “are they real?”

The packaging on the mascara is huge and the brush is nice and spikey in order to get separation and volume on each lash. See my before and after pics of this mascara and see what you think?

My rating overall will be a two stars only because the spooly on the brush is huge and that can be overwhelming to little lashes like mine, however making my lashes look fuller is a definite three stars.

Can you see a difference? I do! My lashes appear to look fuller and much more defined. Yey! If you are looking for something like this I would totally recommend this one. There was no smudging or clumping what so ever!!

Hair: Tried Of Dry, Breakage Prone Hair

Are any of you out there tired of getting your hair to grow to a certain length and then it begins to break off like crazy? I have been experiencing this for many years and now I feel that it is time to research and figure what I am doing wrong. I really want to figure out a remedy to this issue, so that I can start taking care of my hair and promote healthier and strong hair growth. Is it possible? I am sure it is.

Lately, I have browsing the web for information on caring for black hair. (women of color) But the only thing I seem to come across are blogs and websites that give little information on how to care for black hair or that site is solely trying to sell your their line of products to promote growth. My thought is, I can find products like crazy, but if I am unclear as to how to use them or create a hair regime like we have a skin care regime how will they products benefit me? Do you know what I mean?

I found products that I like so much now such as:

  • Carol’s Daughter Tui smoothie, Tui leave in hair conditioner, and Mimosa Hair Honey
  • The shampoo I currently use is Pantene Pro V for natural and relaxed hair and I also have the conditioner too, but I am thinking of switching those over to Carol’s Daughter shampoo too.

Any of you out there know anything about how to care for black hair? Have any tips to share? I would really love to know. I currently have relaxed hair and I am trying to only relax it every 6- 8 weeks now since relaxing it too often my be part of my problem. Also, is there anyone of you out there that currently use Carol’s Daughter? What are your thoughts on that? Please share!!

51erngsmo2l_ss400_I was on the web today and I came across this book called Healthy Black Hair: Step-by-Step Instructions for Growing Longer, Stronger Hair by Nicole Elizabeth Smth, $14.95.

This book says:

Healthy Black Hair-step-by-step instructions for growing longer, stronger hair is not just another hair care book. Although chock full of styling and hair care tips, it includes a complete hair care regimen with a total body approach to growing healthy hair. Women will appreciate her honest portrayal of her own hair struggles and will learn how to use safely use herbs, vitamins and even yoga to strengthen and nourish their hair. It even includes information on thyroid disease, which can severely affect hair growth. Good hair care is not limited to traditional methods anymore!

What intrigued me to purchase this books was for the fact that it received a well overall amount of good reviews vs. bad ones and this book was not trying to sell me products either. So, when it comes in the mail I will read it like crazy and share my findings with you as well.

Dr. Miracle’s Anti-Breakage Strengthening Creme Review

Hi Beauty Chameleons! Today is my first time ever doing review on hair products. Lately, I have become obsessed with really taking hair of my hair. Why, well now that I think about it, it has been over two years since I accidentally used a product on relaxed hair which cased my hair to fall out. I am not kidding it fell out leaving me with a 1 & 1/2 hair left to work with. I was just horrified!!  However, I learned my lesson! Which is to read the product packaging and not to trust a sales associate when it comes to certain things, like my hair.

sbs-254002Ever since then I have gotten my hair to grow back in to a chin length bob, but it is uneven and unhealthy. So lately I have been wanting to treat my hair so that it will grow stronger and healthier. With that in mind last month I went over to sally beauty supply to purchase Dr. Miracles relaxer, Dr. Miracles Stimulating Moisturizing Gro Oil, and Dr. Miracle’s Anti-Breakage Strengthening Creme.

I have to say I love the relaxer and gro oil, but the Anti Breakage Strengthening Creme is another story. It’s bad you all, I hated it! Why? Well they say when you use this product you will experience:

* Thermalceutical Complex penetrates hair shaft, ending breakage while adding brilliant shine
* Works deep into scalp, waking up dead hair follicles
* Featherlight cream moisturizes, conditions and finishes hair and scalp
* Makes detangling easy
* Protects hair from heat styling

This creme moisturizes and conditions with daily use and is excellent on relaxed, braided, weaved or natural hair. Thermalceutical complex penetrates hair shaft, ending breakage while adding brilliant shine. Works deep into the scalp waking up dead hair follicles. Enjoy the tingle – Enjoy the growth.

Okay, to me the creme seemed to be very water based and you know with ethnic hair too much water based products can be drying and cause more breakage to the hair. Guess what? That is exactly what happened to me. My hair became dry and brittle and started to break more. I was using this for almost a month to realize this. So I immediately stopped using this product. Have anyone one of you tried this particular product? What are you thoughts on this? Maybe I was using it wrong? Let me know.

Anyway, I stop using the anit-breakage strengthening Creme and switch to a different product called Doo Gro Medicated Hair Vitalizer Triple Strength. I like this one because it is ultra light and it leaves my hair feeling so much softer with a healthy luster to it as well. So in essence my hair routine will be Dr. Miracles relaxer, stimulation gro oil and the doo gro hair vitalizer so that my hair can continue to grow and stay healthy. If you were looking to try the Anti-breakage Strengthening Creme I would not recommend it at all, but that is just my opinion. I hope this was helpful to anyone thinking of trying something new on their hair.

Chat soon,

Tasha 🙂
