Halley’s Curls: Week 5 Update

Hey my hairnistas out there! I know many of you have been curious to know how my Halley's Curls are holding up right? Well. . . it is week 5 and I have to say that I am loving this hair better than the Saga Gold remy and the sensational goddess hair too! Why? Well the texture of the Halleys Curls Salon Relaxed Malaysian hair feels just like my natural relaxed hair! No joking!! Many people give me complements on this hair and think it is mine and when I tell them that this hair is sewn in people rush to touch and feel this hair.

Now, many of my subscribers from my youtube channel NHOP76 have been asking the following question on my Halleys Curls:

  1. Does the hair shed a lot?
  2. Does the hair tangle to the point it looks like a birds nest is growing on the back of my neck? lol
  3. Does it curl and style well?
  4. How often do I wash my hair?

To answer your questions:

  1. The hair shed very minimally to me. Just like our natural hair sheds this will shed too. I also think any weave will shed more when the hair is not washed and maintained properly.
  2. Tangling? Very little ot no tangles. I talked to many people that wear weaves and people who's hair is naturally long and their response to me when it comes to tangling is: tangling is normal because of the friction that is created while me constantly move our heads around throughout the day.
  3. The hair curls and style beautifully!! However, if you want the curls too last in humid conditions you will have to use styling products to hold the curls and remember to wash it out that night in order to avoid product build up and breakage of your natural hair and the extensions too.
  4. I wash my hair 1-2 times a week. It depends on how much product build up I have and how many workouts I have completed for the week. But weekly washing is a must.

Overall, this hair is wonderful!! I am enjoying the beautiful texture of the hair and how soft the hair feels when I style it. I am glad that I purchased it because I will be using this hair for the winter months for sure! In the month of December I think I will sport a waving style from Halleys Curls, so definitely stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I will be posting another video on how I care from my Halleys Curls in detail. Until next time have a great day!

Just wanted to send you a note to let you know I have learned so much from your tutorials. They are easy to follow and have helped me cure my fear of eye shadow. lol
i have one question, I live close to Austin and I would like the number of your installer. By the ways does she take new clients?  Your hair is always so beautiful and I am hoping I can get some similar results.
    Thanks for your assistance.

Hi ! I just love your hair and you are really working your halleys curls. I have a question i jus purchased the Milky Way hair and im going to get it sewn in. u think i should wash it 2 times a week as well. did u ever wear milkyway products.

    • Natasha says:

I have used only the Milky way saga gold and that hair I also washed 1-2 times a week. When I wore the milky way hair that was longer than 12 inches i did have problems with tangling though so watch out.

  3. Crystal says:

What is the longest time you ever keep your sew in ?
How long you should keep it in b4 taking it out and how long can you keep it in.

    • Natasha says:

Hi Crystal, I would only keep the hair in no longer than 3 months in order to avoid matting to your natural hair and to give it a break too. You should be able to re use the hair if you have taken care of it too ๐Ÿ™‚

how long did it take the hair to come in after you ordered it?

    Hi Tasha,
I love, love your blogs and videos. I googled something and stumbled across your youtube videos and I ended up watching them all day. I really like the Halley's Curls hair, and I am thinking of getting some myself. You mentioned that you were working out and washing your hair 1-2 times a week. So is having the extensions and easier than managing your own hair? I am debating whether the sew-in is the route to go for me. I work out about 6 days a week, and am tired of walking around with my hair a mess.
Also, do you keep your hair wrapped when you workout? Thanks!

    Ashley

    • Natasha says:

      Hi Ashley!!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment. As to your question I don’t think wearing extension are easier than managing your own hair. I my case the hair is long and can require styling if you don’t wrap every night, lol. When I work out I usually wear my hair in a pony tail or a bun. I guess I still want to look chic while working out too. Either way is fine. I would just say do what works best for you.

      • Ashley says:

Thanks Tasha! I think I will still get extensions…I am ready for a change. How long did you keep the Halley's Curls in? I am going to order my hair tomorrow and I am REALLY excited!

        • Ashley says:

One more question…is that Halley's Curls in your Urban Decay Naked Palette video?

          Thanks,
          Ashley

  6. Hi, I was googling info on Halley's Curls and came upon this website. I'm not sure if this is still be monitored but here goes my question. I've read you can occasionally get a bad batch of hair with the Halley's.  Has that ever happened to you and how do you know it's bad?

    • Natasha says:

      Hi Cara!!

Of course my site is still monitored! Welcome!
To answer you question I have only used Halleys Curl’s for the past 6 months and I have never experience a bad batch of hair. To know whether or not it is a bad batch I am unsure what to tell you. You may want to contact or email Halleys Curls directly about that.
