Beauty Chameleon Fitness: Weight Loss With P90X

p90x_left_logoHey my beauties!! It is a New Year and time to refocus and get back to my healthy way of living again. If you have followed my fitness blog: my-weightloss-journey.com you know that I have lost weight successfully and kept it off for 2 years with exercise and using nutrisystem. However over the past few years with working full time, being a mom to a active 6 year-old now, and a wife life can get in the way and distract you from your goals. And, life did just that! I stop exercising, eating healthy and just ate whatever and did not care until my clothes started to get tighter and tighter and tighter. When I say tight I mean TIGHT!! I went from a size 8 to a size 14 in 2 1/2 years and it ain’t pretty at all.

This is me 3 & 1/2 Years ago and me now:

before and now pic

Yes, that is me. . 198lbs is not a healthy weight for me. Right now I feel heavy, thick, and lethargic which is not a good mix being in my thirties (33years) Ekk!! Just kidding, the thirties are good! But, it don’t like the way I feel. . tired all the time a no energy.

Now, back in October my hubby and I made a sound effort to order the P90X system only because we have heard some great things about it from friends and family, but needless to say, not much effort was put into it during the holidays. So, after the New years I have made a promise to myself to get healthy again using the P90X and what got that started was what one of my favorite girl’s on youtube mommagee aka Angie (Her Blog)!! She just recently started her P90X program and I thought to myself I have that program too and it has collected way too much dust by now, so yesterday I broke it out for the first time.

I decided to workout with the bonus DVD to get my self started. The workout I chose was the UML (Upper, Middle, Lower workout) and man it is tough, but good tough. Today i am feeling it, for real, but that is normal in order to progress and move to the next level which is getting lean and healthy. Going forward, I will be using this as my personal trainer along with the skills I learned from nutrisystem in order to loss my weight this spring. If you would like to join me in the P90X workouts and weight loss feel free to join and share you progress with me. Each Monday i will do an update post here and on youtube to let you all know my progress along with the ups and downs of weight loss too. In the meantime, have a wonderful day and lets get healthy!!

  1. omgoodness, tasha this is MEEEE tooooo!!!! i went from a 6 to a 12 in 3 years!!!! the first time i lost via weight watchers. this time around i’m using “the fat smash” diet. i’m only 2 days in, but so far, so good. seriously our BMI’s are probably close to the same, because i weigh a tad less but i’m much shorter than you. you’re so dedicated, you’ll be back in NO time at all!

I guess life gets in the way sometimes for us all. But we are strong and we will conquer this weight battle at the end!

    Hi Tasha,

I have been seriously thinking about taking the P90X challenge. I have heard about people doing a master cleanse. Is it necessary to do so? Did you jumpstart your challenge with a master cleanse?

    • Natasha says:

Hi Connie! It is not necessary to do the master cleanse. I did not do it and I am am doing fine on the program. Just follow the P90X nutrition guidelines and you will be fine. Best wishes to you and “bring it”.

Natasha, you are such a beautiful inspiration to many women, mothers and wives! I have completely stopped taking care of myself. Being a wife, mom of two, small business owner and full-time student; it was easy to forget about myself and the importance of putting myself and my health first. I think back to the days when I was a very healthy and confident 140lbs and now two kids and a whole heap of comfort food later I am 220lbs…UGH. My question to you is: did you gain an interest in the beaity and skincare industry after you lost the weight? I feel like I can put on all the makeup and wigs in the world but will still feel unpretty. I have such an interest in makeup but the way I feel and look keeps me from really experimenting too much. Me wanting to get into makeup more and trying different wigs and such is kind of my motivation for losing weight. Not to mention….I am so tired of my New Years Resolutions being to lose weight. Lol.
    God Bless!

      Tiffany,

I was a makeup junkie before the weight loss. When I was bigger I loved how makeup made me feel pretty even my bigger frame. I made people notice my face instead of my large body. Losing the weight was the extra bonus. Don’t let weight hold you back from you makeup dreams enough it while you lose the weight. I am still constantly working on my weight loss. I still need to lose the weight I lost over the summer, lol. I lost 15lbs and gained back 10.

      have a merry christmas,

      Tasha ๐Ÿ™‚
